24

24 is the best tv show EVER...and I do mean EVER

I watch a lot of TV so trust me, I know what I'm talking about..

Chad and I have a very unhealthy addiction to this tv show. We refuse to watch it on TV because it's just not the same as watching it on DVD. You can only watch one episode a week, and so much happens in each episode that by the time the season is over you have forgotten half of what has happened that season. Instead, we buy the season on DVD when it comes out - or we TIVO the entire season and watch it once the season is over. Once we start the season it pretty much takes over our lives - stuff doesn't get done around the house, we stay up WAY to late every night, when we were in school studying wouldn't be done...like i said before - it's an addiction.

Well, the 7th season of 24 just ended last week or so on TV - we didn't get to TIVO the season this year what with moving and what not so we were going to have to wait until it came out on DVD which normally isn't until DECEMBER - which is a really long time to wait if you know how wonderful this show is.

I JUST FOUND OUT THE SEASON IS ALREADY OUT ON DVD!!! I'm soooo excited to tell Chad tomorrow that it's already out. We will be buying the season tomorrow and starting to watch it on monday!!!

I realize most of you don't care, but for us this is a BIG DEAL. It's 24 time at the Elliott house - we will probably be out of reach for the next week.

I love Jack Bauer!!

May

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, but we have been crazy busy. So, here's what's new:

1. Chad is (for the most part) moved to Texarkana. He will be in Temple next week for 3 days, but other than that we now live in the same city all the time - yay!!

2. Chad is done with Surgical Tech school - no more classes, no more clinicals, no more tests. His graduation is May 16th.

3. Chad takes his registry exam to be a registered surgical technician on monday May 11th.

4. Chad has gotten a job at St. Michaels and starts on May 26th

5. We close on our house one week from today - May 14th

So, we are staying at his mom's until we move into the house in a week and a half. My work schedule is crazy this month, and we are getting last minute house stuff done - moving all of our stuff from temple this next week and then moving into the house the week after that. We are very busy, but very blessed. So happy to not have to live apart half of the week anymore, excited about buying our first house. I'll put up house pictures in a few weeks.

Wolverine is great - go see it.

Coffee and Gilmore Girls

Good news:
The house has officially been appraised, and it appraised for more than we signed the contract for.

Next and last step:
The Inspection

Our whole family (husband, wife, and puppies) are all together for the next four days. Chad is at school right now so I am eating blueberry muffins, drinking coffee, and watching Gilmore Girls.

Kris Allen was definately the best on American Idol last night - yay for Conway!

that's all for now - B

This NEVER happens

For some reason, it's 2 AM and I am wide awake. I'm not at work. I'm in temple with Chad, supposed to be sleeping at night since I'm off work for three days. I never have a problem sleeping, and I mean never. I can sleep anywhere, anytime. We went to bed around ten pm, and now I'm just awake. I took two benadrly. I wonder how long it will take for them to kick in....

busy, busy, busy

We've been busy! These last two weeks have just flown by. Chad was here all last week since it was his spring break. It was so wonderful to have him in Texarkana for 5 days. We spent lots of time with all of our family, went to the movies, bought a house - what a great week.

We are so blessed that things worked out so well house wise. I had been looking at houses around town for weeks - and the fact that we were able to find one we like, have Chad go see it, make an offer, and sign a contract all during the week that Chad was in town for spring break was such a blessing. He is rarely in Texarkana and it was just so wonderful that it all came together while he happened to be in town. God was definately looking out for us because He knows I was sure getting stressed.

Now nothing is final yet on the house. We have signed a contract, but we still have to get the house appraised and inspected. If everything goes well there then we should close in May. Yay!

I am currently working my 4th 12 hour shift this week and am exhausted. When I get off of work in the morning I'm driving to Temple to spend the rest of the week with Chad so that is exciting.

Chad is starting to look for a job here in Texarkana so keep that in your prayers if you don't mind. We aren't too worried about it since we really feel like this is where God wants us. He has just opened so many doors for us here and made everything so easy so we are trusting that He will continue to provide.

Hope you are all having a good week.

The Past Week

It's been a week since I've posted - and here's what's been going on:

Nothing much happened last saturday and sunday except Chad came to Texarkana sunday night.
Monday and Tuesday Chad got to hang out with his family, and I saw him inbetween sleeping and work.
He left Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday my family got together to celebrate my Memom's 71st Birthday - fun was had by all. I met with our realtor Wednesday also and she showed me two different houses, neither of which we are going to buy.
Thursday I went and looked at a house that is for sale by owner - it is very promising..i like it a lot. Thursday night I went out to eat with my daddy and we went home to watch Thursday night TV (Grey's was GREAT).
Friday I went and had lunch with my friend Lauren in her classroom (she's a 1st grade teacher). Then our realtor showed us (my mom, dad, and sister came along) 3 houses. One of them is nice, but I don't like it as much as the one that's for sale by owner in Wake Village. My mom and I watched Nights in Rodanthe Friday night - Richard Gere is so cute.

And now I'm back to work.

So, Chad's spring break is this week and he will be here in Texarkana Monday-Friday...yay!!! We are going to see the house that I like in Wake Village, and who knows what will happen from there - I'm just glad he'll be home for a week.

Enjoying Springing Forward

This is the first year that I get to enjoy "springing forward" and "losing" an hour for Daylight Savings. Everyone, except for us lucky graveyard shift workers, lose an hour of sleep..but this year for me it means I get to work an hour less - and that it will still be light outside when I go into work which is nice.

So, I'm back to Texarkana (after four wonderful days with Chad and the puppies). I'm staying in town on my days off this week to look at houses - so wish me luck!

I love Cheerios new Multi-grain Cheerios..give them a try.

That's all for now.

Happy Birthday Sister!!!

Sunday, March 1, 2009

I love the front yard

I saw Slumdog Millionaire last night and loved it!! If you haven't seen it, you definitely should.

My poor sadie dog had some allergic reaction yesterday, to what we aren't sure. She got whelps all over her and her face swelled up..it was so sad..I cried every time i looked at her little swollen face. I had to take her to the vet where they gave her a shot that worked for an hour and then all the whelps came back and she started scratching like crazy again....she's all better now though.

My sister's birthday is Tuesday!! Yay for being 22!!

I get to spend 4 days with Chad this week, and he's off of work for 3 of those days...yay!!

Mixed Feelings

Well, I've driven all around Texarkana for the past two days and can't find a house for Chad and I. I believe that I am too picky, and I think that Chad agrees. Everything that I want is too expensive, ughhh!

I am excited about having breakfast for dinner tonight though. My dad makes the best scrambled eggs in the whole world!!

I love seinfeld!

Thin mints and samoas

Well, I'm glad to report that my cold/sinus infection seems to be going away. Yay! I've been feeling yuck for days.

I spent most of the first half of my shift at work tonight in the ER with my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin. My cousin Bryce was in a car wreck monday afternoon and was in the ER. Thank goodness everything is okay, it could have been much worse.

My sister told me about this neat website a few weeks ago - http://www.etsy.com/ - Check it out..you can buy and sell stuff on the website and everything is homemade..they have clothes, furniture, purses, jewelry..all kinds of stuff..

Most exciting thing to happen today - my girl scout cookies are here!!! yay!!!

That's all for now..not a lot going on..

The Simple Things

Brittney's newest addiction: Chai Tea Latte (from Starbucks - get one)

Chad's newest accessory: BlackJack II (cell phone - pretty cool)

I am currently eating Cheese-Its and watching Gilmore Girls. When Chad gets home from school we are going to go to the gym (something I still can't get used to) and go to the grocery (one of our favorite things to do together). I'm making something new for dinner tonight, chocolate chip cookies after that, and then we're gonna watch a movie..maybe The Godfather.

Today is a good day :)
